Why join Beta Psi Omega?

Being a member of Beta Psi Omega means being surrounded by a community of like-minded, driven individuals that each bring something new to the table. Within the organization, members find professional development resources, opportunities to network and expand social connections, and ways to give back to the community through meaningful service. From their brothers, members draw support, inspiration, and advice.

In efforts to embody our five core values, members of Beta Psi Omega have conducted undergraduate research in labs, have found internships at hospitals, are pursuing MD or MA degrees at BU, have volunteered at organizations such as Community Servings, Cradles to Crayons, Room to Grow, or medical centers in the Greater Boston Area.

To be a brother of Beta Psi Omega is to pursue any professional goals, to receive support from an entire community, and finding a common identity among a diverse group of people - all while building lifelong friendships.

How do we select our pledges?

We hold a variety of recruitment events for potential pledges and members to get to know each other. Please see our Calendar page for a full view of our upcoming events or contact us if you have any questions. We can’t wait to meet you!

To begin the recruitment process, you must attend the required number of information sessions and open rush events.

Those who are considered a good fit for the fraternity will be informed via email with an application and invite to attend closed rush. To accept this invitation, you must submit the application and arrange an interview slot. Please note that the application will require the following:

  • Resume

  • Transcript

  • Short essay responses

The acceptance email will also include details about our application workshop where we walkthrough key components of the application. Although optional, it is highly recommended that you attend.

Information Session

Join us to learn more about who we are and what we do at our informational sessions! We will be going over member opportunities, rush requirements, and more. After the presentation, you will be put into smaller groups to ask further questions with E-Board members. An intent to rush form will be provided at the end, which will require an upload of your professional headshot.

Attendance at ONE information session is required.

Open Rush

These events are open to those who have attended an informational meeting and submitted an intent to rush form. Open Rush events are casual and designed for you to get to know us. We encourage you to attend as many events as you can.

Attendance at TWO open rush events is required.

Closed Rush

Closed Rush events are invite-only and are geared towards showcasing your professional side. Applications are due shortly after the last Closed Rush event. These events require a business casual dress code.

Attendance at TWO closed rush events is required.
